As all the other reviews already state, this is a highly glossed Zippo, and the color makes it (in my opinion) one of their most attractive lighters out there. The best thing I can think of to relate its color to is to a cherry Tootsie Pop after it's been licked a couple times. No worries though, the lighter doesn't feel the same way. If you're looking to add this to a collection, it's prettier than every penny you'll spend on it. If you're looking for a first lighter, buy this and then get another one, 'cause this one is just too fine to use. If you're going to propose to your fiance by slipping her ring on a cigarette, you might consider using this, but otherwise I suggest keeping it away from hard surfaces and sticky fingers, and taking it out every once in awhile to pet and gurgle "my precious", and then wipe it down with your spaghetti-sauce free shirt and put it back. Either way, you're going to buy it now.

This Zippo is honestly my favorite that they sell. I bought this as a gift, and truth be told I was having a tough time giving this to him. I was thinking about keeping it and buying him a different one.
The lighter is completely smooth. With all the quality that you expect with Zippo. It is a deep red that looks like it has scratches underneath a beautiful red candy coat. Mine came in the original Zippo box and had a orange sticker on it that held it shut and had a warning on it. Be warned, the stuff that they use to keep that sticker on there will probably still be there when you peel it off. It would have been smarter for me (if I knew) at that time to set a damp rag, sponge, or anything damp on the sticker to help it come off with out leaving the sticky residue on it. Taking it off wasn't a huge deal, but the ways I was trying were to ensure I wouldn't scratch it, so it took a little bit of time. I didn't want to use chemicals, because I didn't know what the effect of them could be on the lighter.
That aside I got it off and the lighter was clean in all of it's glory. I wasn't sure at the time of the purchase but was fairly certain that it wouldn't come with it pre-filled with lighter fluid, or a little container with it in there. When I opened it, there wasn't any lighter fluid (not an issue), so I just went to the gas station and bought some for $2 or so (Zippo brand of course).
Gave the lighter to the recipient, with a little tear I might add, and he was thoroughly thrilled about it. I'll add some pictures of it as well.

This is a very bright, glossy lighter made by Zippo which is still in Bradford, PA. I don't smoke, but we always need a lighter for birthday candles; I work in an assisted-living facility with more than 100 residents, so there are a lot of birthdays! I don't have to worry about someone keeping this lighter when they borrow it--the color makes it stand out. The price sticker said $21.95, so I thought it was a great deal at $11 and free shipping.

This zippo looks waaaaaay much better than in the picture shown...I was really thrilled to have my red zippo with the candy finish but it has now become my favorite zippo because of it's color and awesome finish....i love it!
